Shot to superstardom while playing for Lakers … because he married Khloe Kardashian in 2009.

Got traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 … played like crap … got dropped from the Dallas Mavericks.

Trying to convince NBA teams he takes his basketball career as seriously as he takes his reality career … which ironically sounds like an interesting plot for a reality show.

Life of James Spader

James Spader will play the villain Ultron in the nextAvengers flick, Avengers: Age of Ultron due out May 1, 2015.

Spader will play the powerful robot villain in the film to be written and directed by Joss Whedon, who made the first Avengers in 2012.

The sequel will bring together the impressive superheroes, including Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, who brought in $1.5 billion in worldwide box office for Avengers.

Spader earned three Emmy Awards for his role as Alan Shore on Boston Legal and The Practice. He will return to villainy this fall in NBC's The Blacklist.

In 2005, his character was spun off into "Boston Legal," where Spader was able to further explore the questionable morals of his law partner at Crane, Poole and Schmidt, while sharing undeniable sparring chemistry with co-star William Shatner. The show delivered steady ratings for ABC, while Spader's performance earned him Emmys in 2005 and 2007. After "Boston Legal" went off the air, Spader made his Broadway debut in David Mamet's "Race" (2009), before returning to television with a guest starring role on "The Office" (NBC, 2005- ) for the season seven finale, playing ultra-manipulative salesman Robert California. In a high-profile announcement, Spader returned to the show as a regular player for season eight after outgoing star Steve Carell moved on.
